Ghanaians need to be patient for Otto Addo to re-build Black Stars - C.K Akonnor

Former Ghana coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor has urged Ghanaians to be patient for Otto Addo to rebuild the Black Stars team which he believes is in a bad state.

Otto Addo took over the four-time African champions in March this year after the disastrous Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast that ended in a group stage exit.

The team has just one win in their last ten matches and have been eliminated at the first round in their last three major tournaments.

Otto Addo himself got off to a false start: losing and drawing against Nigeria and Uganda in his first two games in charge.

Akonnor, who was at the helm for a number of months between 2020 and 2021, called for patience for Otto to re-build the team.

“A coach has been assigned for a couple of years, which means he will have a good plan to follow. It also means that we, as a country, should be patient while the coach has time to impact his knowledge on the team and then excel,” he told Akoma FM.
