England-born Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has been named in the English EFL Championship Team of the Week following his standout performance in Sheffield United’s 2-0 victory over Luton Town.
With an impressive WhoScored.com rating of 9.21, Rak-Sakyi was also crowned Championship Player of the Week. The 22-year-old was instrumental in the Blades' win, scoring twice from five shots, while displaying remarkable form both on and off the ball.
Rak-Sakyi completed four dribbles and made four tackles in the match, further showcasing his all-around contribution.
He opened the scoring in just the 12th minute by converting a lobbed pass from Anel Ahmedhodzic.
In the second half, Rak-Sakyi added his second goal in the 52nd minute, slotting a low shot past Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski. Despite late pressure from Luton, Sheffield United held firm to secure the 2-0 win.
Rak-Sakyi, who joined Sheffield United on loan from Crystal Palace in the summer, has quickly made his mark. After an impressive loan spell at Charlton Athletic last season, where he earned Player of the Year honors, Rak-Sakyi continues to establish himself as one of English football’s rising stars.
He now has two goals in seven Championship appearances for the Blades.
With his excellent form, Rak-Sakyi is determined to make a lasting impact at Sheffield United this season.
