Ghana’s quest for a place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations remains precarious, as their qualification fate is still not entirely within their control.
Despite Niger’s recent 4-0 thrashing of Sudan, which reignited hope for the Black Stars, Ghana must now navigate a challenging path, relying on both results and favourable outcomes from other matches.
Ghana face a must-win encounter against Angola on Friday. Even with a victory, the Black Stars will still need to defeat Niger in their final group match and hope Sudan stumble in their closing game against Angola.
Currently, Sudan hold the advantage, requiring only a single point to secure their qualification, while Ghana must win out and depend on Angola to help keep their hopes alive.
The recent twist came in Togo, where Niger overpowered Sudan with goals from Daniel Sosah, Ousseini Badamassi, and Youssef Oumarou.
This result has thrown the group open, giving Sudan, Niger, and Ghana a fighting chance to join Angola, who have already qualified.
