Ghana’s Alhassan Wakaso continues rehabilitation at home due to COVID-19 outbreak

Published on: 19 March 2020

Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso will continue his rehabilitation at home as Vitória de Guimarães are in isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wakaso has not featured for the club since picking a red card in their 2-2 stalemate with CD Nacional in May.

The season ended shortly thereafter and while everyone went on vacation, the Ghanaian stayed a few more days in Guimarães to undergo treatment because he had knee pains that, despite bothering and requiring extra effort, were never preventive of giving his contribution to the team.

He may reappear as long as the squad receives orders to return to normal training. The Eagles have suspended training due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The 27-year-old midfielder will continue to finalize the plans that the medical and technical bodies have assigned to him at home for these last days of rehabilitation.

Wakaso was ever-present for the Eagles last term — making 30 appearances and tallying 2 goals.
