Ghana midfielder Bernard Kumordzi was in full time action for Genk as they thrashed leader Zulte-Waregem 4-0 to move within a point of the top of the Belgian Jupiler League Championship play-off table.

The home side made a bad start with a fifth-minute own goal from Bruno Godeau but worse was to come five minutes later when Steven Monrose extended Genk's advantage.

Benjamin De Ceulaer then made it 3-0 after 71 minutes with Elyaniv Barda rounding off the scoring five minutes from time.

Kumordzi has been pivotal in the recent matches for Genk as they seek to fight to win the league title.

The win lifts Genk above Anderlecht into second, although the latter will take over top spot with a victory over Daniel Opare's Standard Liege on Sunday.
