Ghana youth defender Najeeb Yakubu was red carded during FC Vorskla Poltava’s 1-0 victory against Olimpik Donetsk in the Ukrainian top-flight on Sunday.
Kulach Vladyslav’s goal on the 90th minute separated the two sides.
However, it came at a cost as Najeeb Yakubu was given his marching orders in the 92nd minute after a horrible tackle.
The sending off means that, Yakubu will miss Vorskla’s next game after featuring in the club’s opening six games of the season.
Having joined the Oleksiy Butovsky Vorskla Stadium outfit in the summer of 2017, the Ghanaian youth international established himself as a regular in the club in the past two seasons.
His impeccable form for the club forced Vorskla to tie him to a new 4-year deal a fortnight ago.
