Ghana’s Sports Ministry has sent well wishes to Hearts of Oak ahead of their second leg CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco.

The Ghana Premier League champions secured a slim win over the Moroccan side in the first leg played at the Accra Sports Stadium courtesy of a Isaac Mensah’s goal in the first half.

The Phobians must record a good score line to secure safe passage to the group stage in the second leg,

The Sports Ministry in a statement has urged the Phobians to make Ghana proud in the second leg.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports extends its heartfelt felicitations to Accra Hearts of Oak in their second leg tie against Wydad AC of Morocco in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round.

“The team being the sole representative of Ghana in this year's CAF Champions League deserves alot of commendations for their exceptional performance.

“The Ministry would like to encourage the team to perform beyond the expectation of thier fans and Ghanaians as a whole.

“Ghanaians are being entreated to throw their support and prayers behind the team to make the country proud”.

The game comes off on Sunday and the Phobians will be eyeing a place in the group stage for the first time in over 12 seasons.
