Ghana’s Thomas Boakye inks new two-year deal at Swedish side Halmstad BK

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Boakye has extended his contract at Swedish Allsvenskan side Halmstad BK.

Boakye has been an important figure at the club since joining from Varbergs Bois in 2018.

The attacker, whose contract was to expire on November 27, 2020, has been rewarded with a new two-year contract after underlining his importance to the club.

On Friday, he put pen to paper on the new deal which will expire on December 31, 2022, at the club’s headquarters.

The 27-year-old could not hide his delight over the new deal, thanking the club for the trust reposed in him.

“It feels great to play in the Allsvenskan with HBK,” he says.

“Magnus likes my attitude on the pitch and on the sidelines. I always do my best for HBK and have respect for the club, and I was very happy when he wanted me to sign a new contract. It feels great to play in the Allsvenskan with HBK, says Thomas Boakye, to the club's website.

He has appeared 80 times since moving to the club in 2018.
