Asante Kotoko defender Gideon Baah has denied reports he is courting an ambition to join Berekum Chelsea.

Media reports claim the Blues have set their eyes on the ex-Sporting Mirren captain with a deal likely to be finalized in the next few days.

Chelsea want to bolster their squad ahead of their participation in the group phase of the Caf Champions League with coach Hans Vander Plyum believed to be a long-term admirer of the highly-rated left-full back.

But the 20-year-old has poured cold water on the reports insisting his commitment level to the Premier League champions is intact.

“I do not know where these rumours are coming from,” Baah said

“I am a Kotoko player and I am very happy with my development with the club.

“I have not met any Chelsea official, neither have I spoken to anybody about a potential move.

“Kotoko have been so good to me and I do not expect to join any other local club so long as I remain in Ghana.

He added: “The club has been with me through turbulent days.  Dr K.K Sarpong has been a father- figure to me.

“Don’t forget he ensured I was sent to Europe to receive first class treatment to help me recuperate so how can I pay him back witch such ingratitude?

Baah recovered from a two-year injury lay off to play a bit-part role in Kotoko’s League triumph last term.
