Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan says striker Gilbert Fiamneyo is still in the process of regaining full fitness despite his impressive performance in the Super Clash.

The ex Hearts of Lions hitman came off the bench to revive the Phobians’ attack in the 1-1 draw against rivals; Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Fiamenyo has been battling fitness issues all-season-long – leading to his limited first team opportunities at Hearts.

Duncan still believes his burly striker remains some way off to full fitness despite his significant contributions in the draw against Kotoko.

“He (Fiamenyo) is making steady progress. This is a player who has been out of action due to injury so definitely he will be slow off the mark, he will be lethargic, he will lack match fitness and all of that,” Duncan said.

“So these are the kind of signals that you get when you talk about work in progress as far as the team and individual players are concerned.”
