Gilbert Koomson helps Norwegian side SK Brann secure Europa League qualification

Ghana midfielder Gilbert Koomson inspired Norwegian top flight side SK Brann to Europa League qualification after the club finished third in the just ended league.

The midfielder joined Brann from Songdal at the start of the season and has became a cult figure at the club after playing 25 games, scoring a goal and creating seven assists earning the nickname-'King of assists".

Koomson's only goal in the Elisterien came against IK Start, when Brann defeated the relegated side 4-1.

Brann finished the season with 58 points- just six points behind champions Rosenborg- and will begin the European adventure in the first round of qualifiers.

The new Norwegian season will begin in March next year and Koomson will be expected to play an essential role at the club.

The 24 year old has also been attracting interests from clubs in the Netherlands and other top European leagues.
