Give Daniel Afriyie Barnie the chance to prove himself- Hearts of Oak PRO tells Otto Addo

Hearts of Oak Communications Director Kwame Opare Addo has urged Ghana coach Otto Addo to give Daniel Afriyie Barnie the chance to prove himself.

The Hearts of Oak striker is among two home-based players invited to the Black Stars for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the World Cup friendlies.

Daniel Afriyie Barnie and Augustine Okrah of Bechem United did not make the matchday squad for the Black Stars game against Madagascar on Wednesday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Goals from Mohammed Kudus, Felix Afena Gyan and Osman Bukari ensured the four-time Africa champions secured their first win in the qualifiers to go top of Group E.

According to Opare Addo, the performance exhibited by some of the players in the game should also warrant Daniel Afriyie Barnie a chance by the technical team to also prove what he can do.

“If Barnie is given the opportunity he would be able to play and perform based on the performance which we saw yesterday from the other players”, he told Happy FM.

The Hearts of Oak striker over the past few weeks has received a lot of support from some former football legends to also be integrated into the Black Stars set up.

Ghana next play away against Central African Republic in neutral Angola on Sunday before heading to Japan for two testing friendlies next week as they look ahead to the tournament in Qatar in November and December.
