Gladson Awako gets late call-up for Wafu Nations Cup

Heart of Lions midfielder Gladson Awako has been given a late call-up into Ghana's contingent for the Wafu Nations Cup in Nigeria.

The 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup winner replaces Berekum Chelsea attacker Bismark Idan who is indisposed according to the technical team. .

Awako has been impressive for his Kpando-based side and a member of the team that failed to progress in the Olympic Games qualifiers.

Coach David Duncan, his technical staff and the playing body will jet out of the country on Wednesday for the tournament.

The side is expected to battle Gambia, Togo and Senegal in pool B of the competition which runs from 5-15 May.
