Godfred Asante's Horoya AC draw Egyptian giants Al-Ahly in CAF Champions League quarter final

Ghanaian defender Godfred Asnate's Horoya AC were given a tough draw in the CAF Champions League quarter final pairings on Monday. 

The Guinean champions will face seven times champions Al Ahly of Egypt following the draw held in Cairo.

Al Ahly  finished their campaign in the African competitions Group A as winners after pulling off an impressive comeback, winning their last four encounters after collecting only one point from the first two to occupy the leadership with 13 points.

Meanwhile Horoya ended as Group C runner ups behind title holders Wydad Casablanca with nine points from their six played games.

The Red Devils will face Horoya at Stade du 28 September in Guinea on September 14/15, with the return leg set to take place in Egypt on the 21st/22nd of September.

The winner of the two legged affair will go on to face the victor of the ES Setif and Wydad Casablanca tie.

The semifinal ties will take place on 2nd and 23rd of November, while the final will be held on 2nd and 9th of November.

Godfred Asante played a key role in the club's CAF Champions League group C campaign, and was influential in the final group game against Mamelodi Sundowns.
