Gosens warns Zidane: Atalanta are going to Madrid full of confidence

Atalanta are trailing by an away goal to Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League round of 16 second leg, which leaves them with plenty to do at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

Yet full-back Robin Gosens maintains that Atalanta are full of confidence ahead of their trip to the Spanish capital.

"We have lots of belief. [The 1-0 deficit] is not a great result but we can go to Madrid with lots of confidence," he told DAZN Italia.

"The red card ruined the game a little.

"We want to go to Madrid to show that we too are good," he concluded.

The German was referring to the questionable red card shown to Atalanta's Remo Freuler in the 17th minute for a foul on Ferland Mendy.

The two sides meet in the Spanish capital on March 16 for the second leg.
