Great Olympics chief Fred Pappoe has confirmed the club sanctioned the transfer of striker Eric Bekoe to Lebanese side Tripoli Sporting Club.

Bekoe finalized the deal with the Middle East side two weeks ago as exclusively revealed by GHANAsoccernet.com, days after signing a two-year deal with the Ghanaian Premier League side.

However Olympics Chief Executive Fred Pappoe says the club was in agreement.

“We signed him for two years but we had an arrangement with him to leave anytime he gets a contract outside,” he said

“And so we gave him our blessings. We’ll not stand in the way of any player. We’ll get something small from his sale in the end.”

The former Asante Kotoko striker is reported to have suffered a knee injury during a training session at the club, prompting fears his contract could be cancelled.
