Greuther Fürth midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei reveals Germany interest in him at international level

Ghanaian midfielder Hans Nunoo Sarpei has revealed that there was interest from Germany to represent them at youth level but he was more focused on representing Ghana, the country of his birth. 

The former Great Olympics and Liberty Professionals midfielder enjoyed a very good campaign with SpVgg Greuther Fürth, making 22 appearances as the Cloverleaves finished the Bundesliga B season in ninth place.

Nunoo Sarpei moved to Germany as a teenager when he joined TSG Hoffenheim, impressing at the youth side of the club to earn him a move to VfB Stuttgart.

“It will be very difficult to accept that offer because I want to play for Ghana," he told Citi Tv's the Tracker Show.  “I was born in Ghana, I grew up in Ghana and It has always been my dream to play for my country," he added.

He continued:“My agent and I have had conversations about this. During my time at Hoffenheim something like that wanted to surface. They wanted me to play for their youth team at the youth championships but it did not materialize.

“My heart is solely for my motherland,” he concluded.
