Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is not concerned over the lack of starts he has had since joining English Premier League side Sunderland on a record transfer fee.
The former Rennes star accepts manager Steve Bruce needs him to get his match fitness up-to-speed.
"Bruce knows what he is doing," he said. "He has seen my fitness levels are not up to standard, so he did not want to put pressure on me."
Gyan has scored twice since joining the club in the summer.
