Gyan to join Ghana squad for Congo game despite suspension

Asamoah Gyan will travel with the Ghana squad to Congo for the crucial African Nations Cup qualifier despite being suspended for the game.

The Sunderland attacker will join the Black Stars training camp in Kenya ahead of the tie in Brazzaville on 27 March.

"I will join the Black Stars camp in Kenya before we travel to Congo," Gyan told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Gyan, who was used as the sole striker under previous Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac, is likely to be used for the friendly against England two days later.

Coach Goran Stevanovic wants to see how Gyan will fit in his new attacking system as the England-based player will train under the Serbian for the first.

He is likely to be used in partnership with Prince Tagoe at training to see how they will cope in future matches.
