Hacken do not want to sell Black Stars striker Waris

Swedish top-flight side BK Hacken are not interested in selling Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris in the summer.

The 20-year-old made a bright start to his Allsvenskan season after grabbing a brace in the 5-0 demolition of Malmo IF at the weekend.

Waris managed only three starts last season due to a ligament injury.

The former Right To Dream Academy graduate's contract runs until 2015 and the club hope he will see out his deal.

"It was a feeling that we knew what will get. It was an opportunity rather than an obstacle that he was injured. If he is healthy and plays well, he will score more goals for us," Hacken sports director Sonny Karlsson said.

Last year, Hacken sold their performers John Chibuike and Mathias Ranégie but want to keep Waris at least for now.

"Now we would not want someone to leave, otherwise we must have the new again. We will not run on the first best if it would turn up something," Karlsson added.

"We have a contract with Waris for three years. Money does not always help us and you do not always get what you want if you have money.

"Waris would score a lot of goals, and given that he is 20 years. He has the speed and clearly there are clubs who would be interested him.

Waris now joint top scorer in the league with two goals after two rounds of matches.
