Hamburger SV forward Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer has said right wing role suits him better after scoring his debut Bundesliga II goal over the weekend.

Hamburger secured a 2-0 victory against Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday. The 20-year-old opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half before Laszlo Benes sealed victory late in the second half.

Since moving Hamburger, the youngster has been very productive on his preferred right wing.

"I thought that Sonny (Kittel) would shoot. But he dropped it on me. This was frankly a little surprising to me. But as a striker, you have to do it.”

"I'm really happy about the goal. I no longer play that far out, but further in. I think that suits me better. Coach Walter always gives me a few tips. I think it just keeps getting better over time,” he said.

The German-born, who recently committed to Ghana, joined Hamburger from Dynamo Dresden this summer.

Ransford-Yeboah had not scored in the league for Hamburger SV, but he did score twice in his Cup debut.

Königsdörffer was born in Berlin to a Ghanaian father and a German mother.

He switched allegiances to Ghana in June, having previously represented Germany at the youth level
