Hasaacas Ladies present WAFU trophy to Vice President Dr Bawumia

Hasaacas Ladies on Wednesday to their WAFU trophy to Ghana Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The entourage comprising playing body, technical team and management met Dr Bawumia at the Jubilee House in Accra.

Dr Bawumia proud of the team's achievement rewarded with 50,000 Ghana cedis which will be distributed among players and members and of the technical team.

"This afternoon, I welcomed newly-crowned CAF Women's Champions League Zone B Champions, Hasaacas Ladies to the Jubilee House. The team presented to me the trophy they won in Ivory Coast, which has also qualified them to the final CAF Women's Champions League in Egypt," a post from Vice President's Twitter account read.

"On behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo and the government, I congratulated them for their outstanding and historic achievement."

 

 

Before the competition, Dr Bawumia made a whopping $10,000 donation to the club to encourage them to make the country proud in Ivory Coast.

They did impressively, recovering from a slow start and winning the final at the expense of heavy favourites River Angels of Nigeria.

Hasaacas Ladies beat them 3-1 in the final to achieve unprecedented treble.

They had already secured the domestic double in Ghana after winning the Women's Premier League and FA Cup.

Hasaacas Ladies have also qualified for the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League to be held later this year in Egypt.
