Inter Allies defender Hashmin Yakubu has expressed his delight after being named the club's new captain for the 2017/18 season.

The versatile defender, who joined the club last season will be deputized by defensive partner Issahaku Zakaria with striker Nasiru Hamzah, named third Captain.

Yakubu became a key cog for the Capelli Boys last season as he netted two goals in 20 appearances to help them avoid the drop.

He says it's an honour to be named Captain and hopes to help Keinechi Yatuhashi's side achieve the target for the season.

“I am very honored and excited that the Club have appointed me as the captain, I’m looking forward to continuing to lead our program for the season,” he said.

“This team is blessed with many leaders and to lead these gallant leaders it’s like a dream for me. I hope I don’t change much from the way I am as a player but to improve more.”

The Tema based club began the season on a positive note thrashing Bechem United 3-0, with Nigerien import Victorien Adebayor netting a brace.

Allies will play as guest to Asante Kotoko in Week 2 of the Ghana Premier League at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
