Hassan Ali Saad To Power Lebanon In AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifier

Published on: 28 August 2017

Kuala Lumpur: Lebanon have called up United States-based striker Hassan Ali Saad for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifier against DPR Korea on September 5.

Saad, who plays for Sporting Kansas City, is a welcome addition as Lebanon look to stay ahead in Group B of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers.

Lebanon currently top the group with six points after two matches, having beaten Hong Kong (2-0) and Malaysia (2-1) in their first two matches.

They can, however, expect to be tested by DPR Korea on Matchday 3 at the Kim II-sung Stadium in Pyongyang.

Saad played in the match against Malaysia where late goals by midfielder Rabih Ataya (pictured above, No 20) gave Lebanon a come-from-behind win.

They are seeking a second appearance at the AFC Asian Cup Finals after having made their debut in the 2000 edition.

In the group's other match on September 5, Malaysia will face Hong Kong.
