Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is in great form, delivering top performances and has been praised by former Manchester City assistant coach Hans Backe.

The Swede believes Ashimeru’s form is a threat to Kristoffer Olsson who could lose his position if he doesn’t stay consistent in midfield.

"There is also a lot of pressure on Olsson as Majeed Ashimeru has done well so far," Backe said.

Ashimeru has featured in 11 games so far this season and has fairly impressed manager Vincent Kompany.

The 23-year-old has been named in Ghana's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header against Zimbabwe in October.
