'He looked like a budding rapper' - Klopp recalls his first meeting with Mane ?

Jurgen Klopp's love for Sadio Mane knows no bounds now, but it's not something that was sparked at first sight.

The German coach followed his career closely before eventually growing impressed with him in the Premier League.

"The first time I saw Sadio was in Dortmund," Klopp told Rakuten TV for their 'Made in Senegal' documentary, to which MARCA have been granted access to an exclusive clip.

"He was wearing a baseball cap and looked like a budding rapper.

"I said to myself: 'I don't have time for that'.

"Our team was good then and I needed someone who could deal with not being in the XI from the start.

"But I was wrong about him. I followed his career and he stood out, above all at Southampton."

It was when they coincided in England that Klopp fell in love with the forward and decided to sign him.

"I played at Southampton," Mane recounted.

"We were 2-0 down at the break and I was on the bench.

"[Ronald] Koeman put me on, I scored twice and we came back.

"Liverpool take notice of players who cause them problems, and I couldn't say no."

Rakuten TV's documentary covers a wide range of scenes from Mane's life; from his humble beginnings in Senegal to reaching the top and winning the Champions League with Liverpool, using Mane himself as the main narrator.
