Health awareness programme held in Tajikistan

Dushanbe: A social responsibility programme focusing on health was recently carried out in conjunction with the AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship for the South & Central zone in Tajikistan.

The programme aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle among the players alongside their quest to achieve their highest goals in football and also in their personal life.

The event was held in line with health being one of the five focuses of the AFC’s social responsibility initiatives.

Various activities were carried out during the programme including the distribution of pamphlets on obesity and the dangers of smoking and consuming alcohol.

Tajikistan Football Federation Women’s Football Department Head Dilorom Nusratullaoeva thanked the AFC for assisting them to implement social responsibility programmes to educate the younger generation especially female footballers about leading a healthy lifestyle.

The programme was an eye opener for the federation especially for the Women’s Football Department in using football as a social development tool.
