Heart of Lions midfielder Baffour Gyawu explains why he stayed put at relegated club

Heart of Lions midfielder Baffour Gyawu has revealed he decided to remain with the demoted side help them regain promotion to the top flight at a canter.

The Kpando-based got relegated from the Ghana Premier League after finishing third bottom on the table.

Gyawu, who instrumental in the Lions midfielder last season, was expected to move on and sign for a club in the elite division.

But he remained on the roster of Lions after the transfer window closed on Wednesday.

"It is true the transfer window is closed and nobody saw Baffour in the transfer market. I am still with Lions" he told Rivers FM.

"Despite we being relegated, Lions are like a Premier team. I believed God will help us to come back in Premier League next seasons."

Gyawu scored a memorable goal against the league Champions AshantiGold in their 2-2 draw at Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in their Week 9.
