Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was left heartbroken by his beloved club Asante Kotoko on Valentine's Day.

The ex-Udinese midfielder was at the Accra Sports Stadium to watch the Porcupine Warriors play Algerian giants ES Setif in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup final round tie.

Kotoko who were playing at home surrended a second-half lead to lose 2-1 ahead of their trip to Algiers for the second leg.

Agyemang-Badu played temporarily for the Reds before leaving the shores of Ghana to start his career abroad a decade ago.

A nicely worked goal by the Asante Kotoko team saw Kwame Poku break the deadlock for the Porcupine Warriors in the 69th minute of the second half.

Amoura Mohammed got the equalizer for Setif in the 73rd minute with a beautiful header.

Setif got the important goal in the 81st minute from a counter-attack as Kendouci Mohammed made it 2-1 for the away side.

Guinean forward had the chance to salvage a point for the Ghanaian giants from the spot but missed from the spot.

Asante Kotoko will travel to Algeria next week for the second leg with the hopes of overturning the results and progressing into the group stage.
