Hearts of Oak will beat rivals Asante Kotoko on November 20 to kick start their new century, the club’s Board chairman Commodore Mensah has assured.

The Ghanaian giants clash in the week seven fixture of the Glo Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium with the added incentive of the league summit to fight for.

Both teams are in good form coming into the epic tie – making it extremely difficult as usual to predict the outcome but Mensah insists only one winner will emerge from the game, Hearts of Oak.

“The match against Dwarfs yesterday was the last league match of the fading centenary and ironically we begin the new centenary with our rivals Kotoko,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.

“I can assure you that we will beat them to ensure that our new centenary is started on a good footing.

“My confidence stems from the assurance the players have given me and looking at this generation of Hearts players, I have no reason not to believe them.”

Hearts turn 100 years on Thursday and have planned religious activities, an awards and dinner dance and an international friendly with Nigeria club Enugu Rangers to mark the occasion this weekend.
