Hearts' board member Nelson backs under fire coach Akunnor

Hearts of Oak Board Member Frank Nelson has thrown his support behind under fire coach CK Akunnor.

Several calls have been made to have the ex Ghana captain dismissed following the side’s shambolic start to the season.

Hearts have suffered three successive defeats and are currently hovering just above the relegation zone with a paltry four points out of a possible fifteen.

The deteriorating situation with the Phobians have seen prominent supporters of the club call for the head of Akunnor.

But Nelson, who has been tipped as the next Chief Executive of the club says the ex XI Wise coach should be maintained.

“It’s a shame where we are now, but he (C.K Akunnor) needs our help to succeed,” he told footy-ghana.com.

“I personally think C.K is a good coach and I don’t think sacking him will be better for now.”

Hearts will be hoping to get back to winning ways with a home game against Real Tamale United on Sunday.
