Hearts hope to have Prince Buaben signed within a few days as talks continue with the Ghanaian midfielder and his agent.

Head coach Robbie Neilson wants Buaben to improve his fitness but is keen in principle to make him the sixth new recruit at Tynecastle this summer.

Buaben played 27 minutes of last night’s 1-0 friendly defeat by Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park.

He featured in Sunday’s win over Dinamo Bucharest at Leigh Sports Village after agreeing to join Hearts on trial.

Buaben, 26, could be the sixth signing if Neilson gets his way.

“If it’s possible, I’d like him in,” the head coach told the Evening News.

“He’s a good player and a good type to have. We’ll try and get something done but it’s not concrete yet. These things are about dealing with people and dealing with him as well. It will take a few days.”
