Hearts of Oak CEO Fred Crentsil says management is disappointed over the weekend’s loss to Liberty but remains positive on the team’s future.

The Phobians slumped to their fourth defeat of the season to their city rivals in C.K Akunnor’s first game in charge as coach of the Phobians.

Crentsil however says the ex Black Stars captain will be given the freedom and support to turn things around with no immediate pressure.

“Certainly the result worries us because we go into every game to win so if we lose we certainly can’t be happy with the result,” he told Takoradi-based Melody FM.

“He (Akunnor) took over the team on Thursday and had very limited time to work with them before the game on Sunday so he will definitely need a lot more time to settle in.

“As far as I am concerned, C.K Akunnor will be given the free hand and all the support he needs to ensure he succeeds so I am not aware of any interference at all.

“It will be very unfair for us in management to tell the coach to win the league for us when he didn’t get the chance to recruit his own players and also considering the limited time he has had with the team.”

Hearts have a lot to in their next three games where they visit the dreaded Agyemang Badu Park to take on Aduana Stars before battling All Stars at home.

They then travel to Kumasi to take on rivals Asante Kotoko who are almost certain to win their 22nd league title as they are ten points clear at the summit of the Glo Premier League.
