Hearts of Oak coach C.K Akunnor has expressed his profound disappointment following the his side's 1-0 loss to Liberty Professionals on Sunday.

The ex Black Stars captain got his career off as Hearts coach to the worst possible start since his appointment last Monday where he replaced Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic who was sacked following a string of poor results.

A second half strike from substitute Kwame Boahene left the ex XI Wise coach distraught in his first game in charge in front of the home fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.

"Yes. Ofcourse I am very disappointed with the result," Akunnor said after the game.

"You don't have to ask me if I am disappointed. Every person would be disappointed to lose a game.

"Its a big blow. No one wants to lose on his first day at work, but it’s nothing new.

"I have noted a few things down and I’ll encourage my players never to give up yet."

The result sees the Phobians drop to fourth and are now a whooping 12-points behind leaders Asante Kotoko who look set to win their 22nd league trophy after four years of hurt.

Hearts are now against it as they travel to the Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday to take on Aduana Stars, a home game with All Stars before traveling to take on the almost certain champions in waiting Asante Kotoko.
