Hearts coach CK Akunnor wants referees to be jailed for bias officiating.

The ex-Ghana international had to be restrained after referee Musah Plato allowed what seemed a dubious goal to stand in their Premier League defeat at Berekum Chelsea last Thursday.

He went ballistic and nearly attacked the match officials.

Hearts were held by relegation-trapped Mighty Jets on Sunday in the top-flight and believe some match officials should begin serving jail terms to serve as a deterrent.

“When coach Sarpong said a referee will be shot one day, everybody was on his case and the authorities even wanted to ban him,” Akunnor said

“But what happened to the referee, nothing. Look at what happened and tell me whether the referee and his assistant deserve even a colt badge to wear.

“Some of them must be imprisoned because they are very wicked. They come into the game with the results in their pocket and yet expect great players from this league. It’s simply appalling,”
