Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu, has thanked management, the technical team and players of the club for achieving the double at the end of the season.

Samuel Boadu led the Phoabians to the MTN FA Cup triumph on Sunday evening, after a marathon penalty shootout victory over Ashantigold.

Having won the Ghana Premier League, a fortnight ago, the 34-year-old coach becomes the first Hearts coach to win the double since Sir Cecil Attuquayefio in the year 2000.

"Glorious double for us, Hearts of Oak …big thanks to the board & management, my technical team and the playing body …big Phobian chant to the gallant supporters for keeping the spirit alive…God is supreme …Phobiaaaa," he wrote on Twitter.

The former Medeama SC coach was appointed coach of the Accra-based giants after struggles in the first round, saw the Phobians demote Edward Nii Odoom to the youth team, and his replacement Kosta Papic leaving unceremoniously.

Despite the challenges, Samuel Boadu mustered his charges to a successful end to the season.

Hearts of Oak will now represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season.
