Hearts confirm Abanga transfer request

Ghanaian Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have confirmed midfielder Kofi Abanga has asked to leave the club.

The 24-year-old's spell with the former African champions has been marred by injuries since joining from Aduana Stars four seasons ago.

He was used sparingly season after recovering from a serious knee injury on both legs and is yet to make an appearance for the club this term.

Hearts have confirmed the dynamic midfielder has slapped in a transfer request and is likely to exit the capital club.

"Kofi Abanga is the only player who has officially written to us to leave," club spokesperson Muheed Saeed, told Accra-based Peace FM.

Berekum Arsenal and debutant Amidaus Professionals have expressed interest in the former Ghana U20 midfielder.
