Hearts dock Asante two-weeks wages for facebook comment

Published on: 29 March 2012

Hearts of Oak midfielder Uriah Asante has been hit with a two-week pay cut following his facebook message to Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu.

The 19-year-old incurred the wrath of the club's supporters after he replied to a post  by the Kotoko coach by wish him well ahead of last Wednesday's Ghana Premier League tie at Berekum Chelsea.

He was threatened with severe beating and opted to stay out of the team’s training grounds at the ATTC Park.

But he resumed training upon the intervention of the management team of the club on Monday but was hit in the pocket over the comment to serve as a deterrent.

His loyalty to the club has been questioned but he insists he is committed to the Phobians.

He will be available for selection when Hearts travel to Aduana Stars on Sunday.
