Hearts of Oak have confirmed Neil Amstrong-Mortagbe has been prohibited from holding himself out as managing director of the club.

South Africa-based Africanfootball.com reported on Monday night that the FIFA marketing consultant had been sacked for misconduct.

But the club have clarified Mortagbe’s situation and say he has been interdicted after deliberating on allegations of wrongdoing levelled against him.

A three-man committee has been constituted to look into those allegations and has one-week to submit a report to the board of directors.

A statement read: “At a meeting of the Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak S/C Limited held on the fifth day of May, 2014, the Board after deliberating on allegations of wrongdoing levelled against the Managing Director of the Club, Mr. Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, decided to interdict him pending further investigations into the allegations. The three-member investigative committee has one week to submit its report to the Board.”
