Managing Director of Hearts of Oak Gerald Ankrah insists winning the Premier League title is not a priority of the club.

The current Hearts board and management have come under intense pressure lately from their fans for the team’s failure to win the league since their last triumph in 2008.

The Phobians have rather slipped into fighting against relegation.

But Managing Director Gerald Ankrah in a shocking revelation says the club’s target is not to win the league.

“We are focused on building a team for the future and not to win the league,” he said.

“If we win the league, then it will come as a bonus but that is not our prime focus.”

Hearts fans are growing increasingly agitated by the club’s lack of ambition to win titles since the takeover by Togbe Afede XIV five years ago.

The Accra-based giants pride themselves on winning successive Premier League title and roughing shoulders with the best teams on the continent but now have to fight tooth and nail to avoid getting relegated from the Ghanaian top flight.
