Hearts of Oak are on the verge of signing ex Kotoko striker Kwadwo Poku, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

Negotiations between the two parties over a one-year deal are at an advanced stage.

“We are close to sealing the capture of Poku,” management member, Aziz Haruna Futa confirmed to Accra-based Great FM.

“I don’t want to go into details of the deal because we are still in negotiation but we will unveil all our new players before the season starts.”

The 26-year-old became the toast of the Ghana Premier League in 2003 while with King Faisal but failed to live up to his potential when he joined Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2004.

He has since earned nine call-ups to the national team and has scored two goals in the process.
