Hearts of Oak Managing Director Gerald Ankrah says the club are determined to cause an upset on their return to Africa next year.

The former African champions will be playing in CAF inter-clubs competition for the first time since 2008 and will be involved in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup

Hearts will know their opponents on 22 December when the draw is held in Cairo.

The Phobians have lost their touch and not won a league title the past four seasons but the maiden champions of the Confederation Cup in 2004 are undeterred.

“I am particularly happy with that fact that the team is gradually gelling and their performance in recent matches has been very exciting,” Ankrah told www. sportscrusader.com

“We are not going to Africa to joke or add up to the numbers. We are going to make an impact and it is against this background that Management is working hand in hand with the Board to make sure that the playing body and the technical staff are well motivated.”

Hearts finished third last season but got the nod to play in the continent’s second-tier competition because Heart of Lions who were runners-up in the league refused to participate.
