Hearts of Oak brush aside Division Two side Phar Rangers in friendly
Hearts of Oak beat Phar Rangers 2-0 in friendly.

Hearts of Oak posted a 2-0 win over Division Two side Phar Rangers 2-0 in a friendly game played at the Legon Ajax Park on Thursday morning.

Robert Addo put Hearts in the lead in the first half before substitute Joseph Esso doubled the tally after the break.

The Phobians beat Phar Rangers 2-1 at the same venue two months ago, and so the visitors came into the game on a mission to avenge their loss.

Phar Rangers held their own for long spells but their resistance was broken when left back Addo scored the opener.

Hearts were kept at bay and had to make do with only a solitary goal when the first half whistle ended.

After the break, both coaches made a flurry of substitutions but it's the Phobians' that yielded instant result.

Esso doubled our tally with a lovely strike from range after a cute tee up from Isaac Mensah.

The match was also used to assess a few new players who are knocking on the Hearts door.
