Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu receives board backing amid slow start to season

Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu has received a ringing endorsement from the board amid their slow start to the season.

The club says there is no cause for alarm after picking two points from a possible six.

The Phobians were held by Legon Cities and West African Football Academy and will next host Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Board member Frank Nelson says the coach has the full backing of the club's board to steer the wheel to success.

“We have a very young coach who understands the team, and, luckily, he has been with us for some time, and he’s the current best coach in the country," Nelson said

“I will not compare him with coaches, but what I know is that he is doing well. Boadu has what it takes to lead the club, and, moreover, we are just trying to warm up into the season and we will do so to the level everyone is expecting.

“We are not under pressure because we will not wait for the 84th or 85th minute to equalize or win my games. Hearts of Oak knows what to do, and we will do it appropriately.

“Our supporters should remain calm and not put pressure on the players, but rather allow them to concentrate and deliver."
