Hearts of Oak confirm Samuel Nii Noi as interim coach after parting ways with Kosta Papic

Hearts of Oak have confirmed U-15 coach Samuel Nii Noi as interim head coach following the surprise resignation of Serbian Kosta Papic.

According to a Hearts of Oak statement, signed by Communications manager Kwame Opare Addo, Nii Noi will lead the team at training until a new head coach is found.

Ghanasoccernet.com understands their former striker Yaw Preko is favourite to land the top job, five years after he left his role as caretaker manager. 

Papic, who was having a second stint with the Phobians, confirmed his departure on Monday, 15 February 2021 after taking charge of ten matches.

He made a bright start after replacing Edward Odoom in November last year.

But after going four matches without a win, Papic's tactics were questioned. It looks like the navel-gazing that followed the team's winless run forced him to lay down his tools.

Papic resigned along with goalkeeper's Ben Owu. This was after assistant coach Asare Bediako stepped down last week.
