Hearts of Oak deny contact with free agent Eric Donkor

Hearts of Oak have denied reports that they have held talks with former Asante Kotoko left-back Eric Donkor.

Donkor is in search of a new club after parting ways with Ashanti Gold this month. He failed to land a new deal with the Miners following the expiration of his two-year contract.

And according to reports, Hearts of Oak are strong favourites to acquire his services, having held talks with him.

But Opare Addo, who is the Communications Director of the Ghanaian giants, has said the reports are false.

“We have William Dankyi, Rady Ovouka and Robert Addo who doubles as an excellent centre back in that position. Why should we go in for another left-back when we have sold none?

He [Eric Donkor] is an excellent player; no doubts about that. He has contributed his quota so well to Ghana football and wherever he has gone and he is my personal friend,” Opare Addo told Luv FM Sports.

“The reality is that, if it is not the case why do we want to force a story on the supporters which some of them go ahead and believe, creating pressure on management that you need to do certain things? This does not help anybody,” Mr Addo stated.
