Odotei and Frank Nelson are leaving the Strategic Committee

Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have dissolved the five-man strategy committee set up two years ago team to control the affairs of the club, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The board will decide in the coming weeks whether to continue with the direction or revert to the former style of appointing management members to directly run the club.

The committee which was headed by newly-elected MP Vincent Sowah Odotei was disbanded following a meeting of the club's board on Wednesday night.

The body which served as the management team for the Accra-based was directly accountable to the board of directors of the club.

However, the intense engagement of Odotei in the political affairs of the country as an MP and a deputy minister looks to have forced the hand of the board of the club.

The members of the committee are;Vincent Odotei Sowah, Frank Nelson ,Alhaji Akanbi and Thomas Esso.

The five men brought a host of experience on board for the Phobians as they sought to find ways to restore the club to its previous glory but were largely unsuccessful.

Vincent Odotei Sowah was Chief Executive Officer of the club between 2007 and 2010 while Frank Nelson has been a board member of the club since 2010 when the club floated its shares and also an executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association.

Alhaji Akanbi was the former Chairman of the National Chapters Committee and also a board member of the club before resigning in January 2015.

Gerald Ankrah until recently was the managing director of the club while Thomas Esso was recently added to the club’s board of directors at their fifth annual general meeting.
