Hearts of Oak have been fined GHS20,000, with GHS10,000 suspended for the remainder of the season, after being found guilty of a security breach during their Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles FC on March 8, 2025.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee ruled that the club failed to enforce proper security protocols, allowing unaccredited individuals, mainly supporters, into the safe zone.

This violation compromised matchday security and posed a potential risk to players and officials. According to reports, several individuals were seen in restricted areas near the dressing rooms and the technical area.

The committee emphasized the importance of match security and warned that repeated violations would attract stiffer penalties. Hearts of Oak have been directed to implement stricter security measures for their home matches.

The club has seven days to appeal the ruling but must also submit a report detailing the steps they will take to prevent future incidents. Failure to comply could lead to further sanctions, including home match suspensions.
