Hearts of Oak forward Abednego Tetteh has called on the Ghana FA  for the quick return of football activities as other African countries with higher recorded COVID-19 cases have restarted their leagues.

Football activities have been suspended in the West Africa country since March this year due to the outbreak.

The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League was also cancelled due to the outbreak by the Ghana FA.

Abednego Tetteh, after joining the Phobians on a three-year deal is yet to feature for the club in a competitive game.

According to him, the Ghana FA has not done much to convince the government on the safe return of football juxtaposing it with other African countries such as South Africa and Tanzania, which have restarted their leagues despite high recorded cases of COVID-19.

”South Africa’s cases are more than Ghana. If I watch them and Tanzania playing football I became so sad. The FA should push hard for the resumption of football,” Tetteh told Hello FM in Kumasi.

He added that the long absence has affected him as he cant wait to get back to the pitch.

”We have missed the game. We thought the break was going to be short. I’m surprised we have sat home for about eight months without playing football, this is unforgettable.”

The Ghana FA is in talks with the government over a possible return of football activities in October.
