Hearts of Oak leave it late to dismiss RTU

Striker Edward Afum snatched an injury time winner to hand Hearts a 3-2 win over a resilient Real Tamale United side at home.

The match was heading for a 2-2 draw but the former Kotoko striker gave the Phobians their first league win in four matches.

Moro Iddrisu converted a penalty-kick in the 86th minute to make it 2-2 after striker Edward Afum was brought down inside the box.

It was Hearts who drew first through captain Mahatma Otoo-his fourth goal of the season-on 16 minutes.

The captain's goal came four minutes after Moro Abubakar had missed a penalty by blasting his effort over the goal post.

But against the run of play RTU defender Hanan Gyiwah headed in the equalizer from a corner-kick.

The visitors, without a win in six matches, took the lead just after the hour mark when Salim Ahmed Sakara turned home from a Tetteh Luggard blunder.

Stop-gap Hearts coach Ben Adjei threw on veteran Laryea Kingston for the second half and the former Ghana international weaved his magic by breathing life into their play.
